UNITED FREEDOM FRONT
The United Freedom Front was a small, disciplined armed clandestine group built by working-class ex-prisoners and Vietnam-era radicals around Raymond Luc Levasseur and Tom Manning. Across nearly a decade underground it bombed corporate and military targets tied to South African apartheid and U.S. intervention in Central America — always at night, with warning calls — until the November 1984 arrests of the "Ohio 7" and the marathon prosecutions that followed, including the last great sedition trial of the twentieth century, which the government lost. The events below trace that history and its prisoners.
