Carol Manning and Barbara Curzi had been freed in the early 1990s, Pat Gros completed probation, and Kazi Toure was released in 1991.
Richard Williams died of illness at FMC Butner in 2005; Tom Manning died at Hazelton in 2019 after years of medical neglect documented by his supporters. Jaan Laaman, the last UFF prisoner, was released in May 2021 after 37 years, closing the case's ledger — though both Manning's New Jersey life sentence and the movement's memory of the children of the Ohio 7 remain fixtures of political-prisoner history.
