Research & Policy Analyst
Remote / Washington, D.C. Full-time $55,000 – $70,000

We're looking for a meticulous researcher to investigate political imprisonment cases, analyze legal proceedings, draft policy briefs, and contribute to our case database. You'll work alongside legal advisors and advocacy staff to produce evidence-based reports that support campaigns for prisoner release and policy reform.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in political science, law, public policy, or related field
  • 2+ years experience in legal research, policy analysis, or investigative journalism
  • Strong analytical writing and data synthesis skills
  • Familiarity with the U.S. criminal justice system and political prisoner history
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple research projects

Communications & Outreach Coordinator
Remote Full-time $48,000 – $62,000

Own our public-facing voice across digital channels, media relations, and community engagement. You'll craft compelling stories about political prisoners, manage social media strategy, coordinate press outreach, and develop campaigns that grow our supporter base and amplify our mission.

  • 2+ years experience in nonprofit communications, journalism, or digital marketing
  • Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills

Development & Fundraising Associate
Washington, D.C. Part-time $22 – $30 / hr

Support our fundraising efforts by researching grant opportunities, drafting proposals, cultivating donor relationships, and helping plan fundraising events. This role is ideal for someone building a career in nonprofit development who wants hands-on experience across the full fundraising cycle.

Requirements
  • 1+ years experience in fundraising, grant writing, or donor relations
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and donor management systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills

Internship Program

Our internship program offers undergraduate and graduate students a chance to gain real-world experience in human rights advocacy, legal research, and nonprofit operations. Interns are embedded in active projects from day one and contribute meaningfully to our mission.

Past interns have gone on to careers at organizations including the ACLU, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, and the Department of Justice.

Program Details
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Internships are available during the fall, spring, and summer terms.
