Between May 1975 and 1977 the Brigade carried out roughly twenty bombings and attempted bombings around Puget Sound and Oregon, each tied by communiqué to a specific struggle: the Washington Department of Corrections offices and the state Capitol in Olympia for the treatment of prisoners at Walla Walla; Safeway stores during grocery-worker and farmworker disputes; FBI offices, power substations during a City Light workers' strike; and the Rainier National Bank. Warnings were telephoned and the actions caused property damage rather than casualties — with one exception the group itself condemned and apologized for, a Safeway blast that injured customers when the store refused to evacuate.
The campaign's signature was accountability to above-ground movements: communiqués debated tactics with local activists in the pages of Seattle's left press, an exchange later collected in the Brigade's anthology, Creating a Movement with Teeth.
