From the founding of the Plowshares movement in 1980 — when Daniel and Philip Berrigan, Anne Montgomery, and five others entered the GE King of Prussia plant and hammered on Mark 12A nuclear-warhead nose cones — through the Trident, Disarm Now, and Transform Now Plowshares actions, U.S. anti-nuclear activists have served thousands of cumulative years in federal prison for symbolic disarmament actions at nuclear weapons facilities.
