Biography

William D. Boone Pvt. William D. Boone of the 24th Infantry was sentenced to death in the second/third Houston court-martial. After clemency petitions, President Wilson commuted 10 of 16 condemned men in this round but approved Boone's execution. Hanged at Fort Sam Houston September 24, 1918, one week after five other condemned soldiers were executed there. Conviction set aside November 2023.
