Biography
W. C. Patton was an official of the Alabama State Coordinating Association for Registration and Voting. In 1958 Alabama Attorney General John Patterson sought to brand him and William P. Mitchell as covert agents of the banned NAACP and brought an additional contempt case against them in the state courts — part of Alabama's drive to suppress Black voter-registration work.
