Biography
A Roman Catholic diocesan priest of the Diocese of Cleveland, Begin was one of the nine (mostly Catholic clergy and religious) who on March 22, 1969 raided the Dow Chemical Company offices in Washington, D.C., smashing glass, throwing files out a fourth-floor window and pouring blood on records to protest Dow's manufacture of napalm and nerve gas. He was charged with malicious destruction of property and unlawful entry. He was sentenced (terms across the group ranged from a few months to several years) but, like most of the group, did not ultimately serve time after appeals overturned convictions in 1972.
