Biography
A Jesuit (Society of Jesus) then in formation (ordained a priest around 1971), O'Rourke joined the Jesuits in 1958 and was one of the nine who raided the Dow Chemical offices on March 22, 1969. He was charged with malicious destruction of property and unlawful entry. He later became nationally known when the Jesuits dismissed him in 1974 after he publicly baptized the child of a couple in an abortion-rights controversy; he remained a lifelong activist.
