Biography

Central leader of the 1934 Minneapolis Teamsters strike; co-founder of American Trotskyism. Joined the IWW in Montana lumber camps before settling in Minneapolis. Expelled from the Communist Party in 1928 with Cannon for Trotskyism. Trotsky called him "the most effective labor leader in America." 16 months at FCI Sandstone. Remained an SWP leader until his death.
