Biography

Minneapolis coal-yard Teamster; leader of the 1934 Minneapolis Teamsters Strike, credited with developing the "cruising picket" tactic. Wounded by police gunfire on Bloody Friday during the 1934 strike. SWP labor activist for decades; authored the 1987 essay "How to Win Strikes: Lessons from the 1934 Minneapolis Truckers Strike."
