Biography

Steven M. Fitch is a Council Bluffs, Iowa resident who was found carrying a Molotov cocktail during BLM protests in downtown Omaha, Nebraska on May 31, 2020. Officers discovered in his front pants pocket a glass bottle with liquid and a red rag fuse that field-tested positive for gasoline, along with multiple lighters. The device was in operating condition and capable of exploding when ignited. Charged in the District of Nebraska, Fitch pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a destructive device under the National Firearms Act and was sentenced to 30 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Brian C. Buescher.
