Biography
On August 24, 2020 Desmond David-Pitts, 19, allegedly set fire to the Seattle Police Department East Precinct. He had flown from Alaska to Seattle three days earlier to participate in protests because his younger brother had been killed by police after being pulled over for a traffic stop. Surveillance video captured him piling trash against the sally-port door over 11 minutes, repeatedly lighting it and feeding the flames. While he was setting fires, others were attempting to disable the door with crowbars and cement-like materials. He was identified by his distinctive pink camouflage trousers. Sentenced to 20 months federal prison.
