Biography
Nicholas Scaglione is a Cranston, Rhode Island man sentenced to three years in federal prison for helping destroy a Providence Police cruiser during the June 2020 George Floyd protests. Scaglione climbed atop an unoccupied cruiser, threw an object at it, joined others in an unsuccessful attempt to flip it, and sprayed a flammable liquid into the vehicle, intensifying a fire that had already begun and resulting in the cruiser's total destruction. He later texted an associate, "that police cruiser that went up in flames last night can be replaced." He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit arson in April 2022.
Nicholas L. Scaglione, 30, of Cranston, RI was charged for his alleged involvement in burning a Providence Police cruiser in downtown Providence in the early hours of June 2, 2020. He was the second Rhode Island resident charged in the case (alongside Luis Joel Sierra); both shared information with others about their roles in the burning, including text messages and Snapchat. Sentenced to 36 months federal prison.
