Biography

Daniel Williams, a Black Oberlin, Ohio resident, was one of the twenty men committed to the Cuyahoga County Jail for the 1858 Oberlin–Wellington Rescue of the freedom-seeker John Price. He was released on bail on May 5, 1859, and later served an additional 24-hour sentence (May 6–7).
