Biography
Booker T. Collins Jr. was a member of the Milwaukee, Wisconsin chapter of the Black Panther Party, founded in January 1969. In September 1969 he was arrested with Jesse White and Earl Leverette and charged with the attempted murder of a police officer; the three became known as the "Milwaukee Three." All three said they were severely beaten by police after their arrest. Collins was convicted and sentenced to up to 30 years in prison. The case was the most prominent prosecution of the early Milwaukee Panther chapter.
