Biography
Lifelong Hampton, NH activist. Co-founded the Clamshell Alliance in 1976 and was among the more than 1,400 protesters arrested at Seabrook on April 30/May 1, 1977. After his father's 1988 murder he became a national leader of murder-victims-against-the-death-penalty organizing, and as a NH state representative (first elected 1996) he led the successful 2019 repeal of New Hampshire's death penalty. Democratic House Leader at the time of his death from prostate cancer and COVID-19 complications on March 7, 2022.
