Biography
Former U.S. Air Force C-141 pilot trained to ferry nuclear weapons who became, in 1979, the journalist who "discovered" and published the Teller-Ulam (H-bomb) design in The Progressive — triggering U.S. v. Progressive Inc., the first prior-restraint case the U.S. brought against an American magazine since the Pentagon Papers. Before the H-bomb article, after a year of graduate work at Dartmouth he became a full-time Clamshell Alliance organizer and co-founded the group in 1976.
