Biography

Navy veteran who moved from Long Island to Rye, NH, was a co-founder of the Clamshell Alliance in 1976 and a perennial figure in New England anti-nuclear and environmental organizing. Later served as president of the Seacoast Anti-Pollution League. In a celebrated act of civil disobedience he sawed down a Seabrook Station emergency-warning siren pole, was charged with criminal mischief (a Class B felony), and was acquitted by jury.
