Richard O'Neal

O’Neal was a former Black Panther connected to Bay Area political organizing who became entangled in the revived 1971 homicide case decades after the original investigation.

He was arrested in 2007 on suspicion of conspiracy linked to the reopened case, though authorities did not allege he was an active participant in the 1971 killing itself. As the prosecution narrowed its theory and dismissed parts of the indictment, he was removed from the case in 2008.
