Biography
Reubin Clein was an editor for Miami Life magazine who was sentenced to 30 days in jail for refusing to reveal the source of a leak regarding a city councilman accused of bribery. Clein published multiple stories in Miami Life, ranging in scandals. In the early 50s, Clein claimed in press that Miami councilman Mel Richards was accepting bribes from gambling rings based on a leak that claimed there was such testimony from Barry Gray. The court called in Clein to demand to know who leaked the testimony. At his refusal, he was cited for contempt of court. Clein was the first newspaperman in Florida to go to jail for not revealing his source.
