Biography

Ray Peltz, a Young Communist League organizer at Chester, was arrested in January 1930 for leafleting the unemployed and convicted of "sedition" under Pennsylvania's Flynn Act at Media on 2 April 1930, drawing one to twenty years and a $5,000 fine. Holmes was described as the only political prisoner in the Huntingdon reformatory.
