Biography
Perry Sturges was a teacher at the Highlander Folk School, arrested in the July 31, 1959 police raid on the interracial school at Monteagle, Tennessee and charged with drunkenness and resisting arrest — pretext charges that were part of the state's effort to revoke Highlander's charter and close it down.
