Biography
Ivan W. Sussoyeff (also rendered Sussoff) was one of the six Molokan absolutists from Glendale, Arizona who refused the WWI draft. He left a documented account of being tortured at Fort Riley — "they dragged me like an animal with a rope around my neck." Court-martialed and imprisoned at Fort Leavenworth on a fifteen-year sentence, he was amnestied by President Wilson in April 1919.
