Biography

Bryn Mawr-educated daughter of an Illinois banker and Republican state legislator who taught with the Peace Corps in Guatemala, then organized with Jobs or Income Now in Cleveland and Ann Arbor SDS, where she became Bill Ayers's partner. Joined Weatherman after the June 1969 SDS split. Killed at age 28 on March 6, 1970 in the Greenwich Village townhouse explosion at 18 West 11th Street while assembling, with Terry Robbins, a nail bomb intended for an enlisted-soldiers' dance at Fort Dix; her body was identified only by a fingertip.
