Biography
Founder and central organizer of the Weather Underground Organization who went underground in 1970 after the Greenwich Village townhouse explosion killed three comrades. He remained a fugitive until 1980, when he and Bernardine Dohrn surfaced; federal charges against him had been dismissed in 1973 because of unconstitutional FBI surveillance. He later became a Distinguished Professor of Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
