Biography
Mrs. Bertha Teplow was one of the first witnesses cited for contempt by the Florida Legislative Investigating Committee (the 'Johns Committee') on the opening day of its 1958 Miami hearings, after she refused to answer questions in the segregationist body's probe into the NAACP and alleged subversion in the integration movement.
