Biography
Ann Morton was a 23-year-old coal miner's daughter jailed in 1934 while leading an unemployed demonstration at the Sangamon County courthouse in Springfield, Illinois — one of many rank-and-file Unemployed Council activists arrested during the relief protests of the central-Illinois coalfields.
