Biography

Dan Slinger was a militant National Miners' Union miner of Eldorado, Illinois during the Illinois coal strike of 1929–30. During the 1929–30 Illinois coal strike, the National Miners' Union led rank-and-file miners against both the operators and the Lewis machine of the United Mine Workers. Militia and deputies jailed strike leaders wholesale around Taylorville and the Franklin County fields.
