Biography
Sid Mills, Yakama and Cherokee, was a wounded Vietnam veteran who in October 1968 publicly refused further U.S. military service, declaring that his first duty was to defend his own people's treaty rights. He joined the Frank's Landing fishing-rights struggle on the Nisqually River and was repeatedly arrested at fish-ins. He married fellow activist Suzette Bridges.
