Biography

Al (Alvin) Bridges was a Nisqually fisherman and a central figure of the Frank's Landing fishing-rights struggle on the Nisqually River. With his wife Maiselle and their daughters, he was repeatedly arrested through the 1960s for asserting treaty fishing rights against Washington State game officials who cut nets and confiscated boats.
