Sang Ryun Park was the English-language editor of the Los Angeles Korean-American paper Korean Independence, arrested for deportation to South Korea under the McCarran-Walter Act as part of the harassment of the anti-Syngman Rhee paper. A federal judge suspended the deportation order, rebuking the Immigration Service for 'summarily disposing of a man's life.'
