Biography
Samuel D. Levine was one of nine Newark, New Jersey workers arrested at unemployment meetings in February 1930 and indicted under New Jersey's sedition law — facing up to fifteen years — for demonstrating against unemployment. He was a Communist candidate for the House, given two years' probation.
