Biography
Ranjani Srinivasan is an Indian national and doctoral researcher who was enrolled at Columbia University. In 2025, her F-1 student visa was revoked by U.S. immigration authorities amid the same campaign targeting pro-Palestinian student activists. Srinivasan had previously been detained during protests at Hamilton Hall, though charges against her were dismissed and her lawyer maintained she had not participated in the protests.
Faced with immigration enforcement actions and visa revocation, Srinivasan ultimately chose to self-deport to Canada, departing the U.S. rather than remain under threat of further detention or deportation proceedings.
