Biography
Phil Bart was a former general manager of the Daily Worker cited for contempt of Congress after refusing, on constitutional grounds, to answer a House Un-American Activities Committee's questions. His conviction was reversed by the U.S. Supreme Court in May 1955 in the same set of rulings as the Emspak and Quinn cases.
