Biography
Pat Devine was the acting secretary of the NTWU, jailed for a year and facing deportation to Ireland in the 1931 Lawrence, Massachusetts textile strike. In the 1931 strike of 23,000 textile workers at Lawrence, Massachusetts, the National Textile Workers' Union leadership was mass-arrested and several foreign-born organizers were held for deportation to break the strike.
