Biography

Fred Biedenkapp was a strike leader held at the East Boston immigration detention station in the 1931 Lawrence, Massachusetts textile strike. In the 1931 strike of 23,000 textile workers at Lawrence, Massachusetts, the National Textile Workers' Union leadership was mass-arrested and several foreign-born organizers were held for deportation to break the strike.
