Biography

Luke O'Donovan is a queer anarchist from Atlanta who was sentenced for stabbing the group of men (5 to 12 men) who were attacking him. In his own words: "In the early morning of January 1st, 2013, I was attacked by a group of men at a party because of my sexuality. In an attempt to defend myself from the attack I thought could end my life I stabbed 5 of them, while also being stabbed 3 times myself."

The prosecution made every effort to dismiss the case as queer-bashing, instead painting Lule as the aggressor. They went so far as to equate the term "faggot" with non-offensive terms such as "babies".

Luke was facing a sentence of up to 110 years if found guilty and so chose to accept a plea deal, which included two years in prison followed by eight years of probation in which he was banished from the state of Georgia.
