Biography
Kijana Tashiri Askari, also known as Marcus L. Harrison, is a New Afrikan prison organizer and writer who chaired the W.L. Nolen Mentorship Program. He challenged censorship of Black August and other political correspondence at Pelican Bay. He attributes his prolonged solitary confinement to political commemoration; prison officials relied on gang validation. He later joined the Ashker class action and reported transfer to general population in 2015. Supporters still sought parole assistance in 2021. His present custody status and vital dates remain unverified.
