Biography
Judy Jenkins was a New Orleans civil-rights activist arrested with her husband Grady in 1957 under Louisiana's criminal-anarchy and anti-subversion laws for refusing to answer the Eastland subcommittee. The couple, parents of two small children, were prosecuted in what supporters called a Red-scare diversion tied to segregation politics.
