Biography

Joshua Sykes, a pastor in the Church of the Living God from Berkeley, California, served a prison term in McNeil Island Penitentiary from January 21, 1919, to June 10, 1922. Sykes' religion forbade the purchase of Liberty Bonds and standing for the National Anthem.
