Biography
John Kiriakou was a CIA case officer, and senior counterterrorism investigator for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. In 2007, Kiriakou gave an interview to ABC News where he revealed the practice of the CIA waterboarding detainees which Kiriakou described as torture. On January 23, 2012, Kiriakou was charged with disclosing classified information to journalists. He plead guilty to this crime and was sentenced to 30 months in prison.
