Biography
Jamal Newman Jr. is a Lancaster, Pennsylvania man who pleaded guilty to riot and related charges, including dangerous burning, stemming from the September 13-14, 2020 protests outside the Lancaster City Bureau of Police station following the fatal police shooting of Ricardo Munoz. He was initially charged with Arson (F1) and Institutional Vandalism (F3); those charges were reduced in a plea agreement. He was sentenced on May 3, 2022 to a maximum of 23 months in Pennsylvania state prison plus 2 years probation.
