Biography

Israel Lazar was a young revolutionary worker held (inmate No. 6977) in the Eastern State Penitentiary at Philadelphia, sentenced to two years for speaking for the Communist Party during the 1928 election campaign and kept in solitary confinement on the fifth gallery.
