Biography
Henry Matlin was imprisoned at San Quentin State Prison in the mid-1920s, during the era of California's criminal-syndicalism prosecutions that sent more than a hundred labor radicals to San Quentin and Folsom. He appears on the International Labor Defense's roster of class-war prisoners in the first issue of Labor Defender (January 1926); like most of the rank-and-file victims of that campaign, little else about his case entered the historical record.
