Biography

Edward R. Peters was a Los Angeles member of the Industrial Workers of the World, prosecuted under California's Criminal Syndicalism Act. He received an indeterminate sentence of one to fourteen years and was held at San Quentin from about December 1921, having reportedly spent some six months in custody before trial. He was paroled on January 10, 1924. The Industrial Worker of August 6, 1924 lists him at California Road Camp A and gives his birthday as August 5, but a later accounting in the same paper records the January 1924 parole — so the August listing was copied from a prisoner list already seven months out of date, and he was not imprisoned on August 6, 1924. No birth year is recorded.
