His full name — mangled to Francis K. McClenwgan by the optical scan of the birthday list — was Francis McClennigan, also printed F. E. McClennigan; his birthday was February 27 (no birth year has surfaced) and his San Quentin number 38125. A Los Angeles IWW activist, he was involved in defending workers prosecuted during the 1923 San Pedro maritime strike before being imprisoned himself in the California criminal-syndicalism prosecutions; his exact sentence and release date still await reconstruction.
