Biography

Deusdedit Marrero was a Puerto Rican Communist and independence figure convicted under Puerto Rico's 'Gag Law' (Law 53) of advocating the overthrow of the insular government. He was held in the Arecibo jail and, supporters reported, denied his mail and reading material.
