Biography

Juan Saez Corales was a veteran Puerto Rican labor leader and Communist, a candidate for the island's House of Representatives, who campaigned under the slogan 'Jail, no; Congress, yes' while under indictment in Puerto Rico's first Smith Act case. He was one of the eleven defendants tried in San Juan in 1956.
