Biography

César Andreu Iglesias was a Puerto Rican Communist writer, one of the eleven defendants in the first Smith Act prosecution ever brought in Puerto Rico. Arrested in 1954, the group went to trial in San Juan in 1956 in an English-language proceeding most of the defendants could not follow.
